Verify Device is Turned on
For establishing a connection and transferring a file between two Bluetooth-enabled computers or between a mobile device, such as a cell phone, MP3 player, or PDA and a computer, you should first verify that the Bluetooth is turned on. Every notebook has a switch or button on the case that sends power to the Bluetooth and wireless network devices. Light glows blue when the Bluetooth or Wi-Fi communication devices are turned on. It glows amber when power to the device is turned off and the indicator light does not glow at all when power to the device is turned off.
Verify Device is Installed
HP Wireless Assistant allows you to verify that a Bluetooth device is installed and to check the status of the wireless device on the computer. For enabling Bluetooth device first Click 'Start', type 'Wireless' into the search field, and then select HP Wireless Assistant from the list. The Status column shows that both of the wireless devices are either on or off by default. If you want to control one of the wireless devices individually, without affecting the other devices, click on 'Properties', and then select the Independent controls for installed wireless devices option.
After transferring files between your HP EliteBook 2530p and another Bluetooth-enabled computer it might turn off. Any device connection that has been opened ends when the Bluetooth switch or button is turned off. There is another thing, which turns off the Bluetooth switch in your HP EliteBook 2530p notebooks. Putting the computer into hibernation also turns off the Bluetooth function.
