While starting the EliteBook, if a message “Hard Disk Error” appears on the screen, then the hard disk is in trouble. The next immediate step that one has to adopt is running the Hard Disk test in System Diagnostics. Once the hard disk test indicates that there is a hard disk error, backup of important data should be taken immediately. The EliteBook 2730p help n support provides you with an internal hard disk test and a Restore Disk CD or DVD.
Solution to resolve the error
Solution to resolve the error To resolve the error an extensive hard disk test has to be applied and for that restarting the computer is essential. When the computer is in the process of restart, press “Esc” to access the Startup Menu and then press E2 to evoke the System Diagnostics window. Select the Hard Disk test and run it about for an hour. If the test indicates that there is no problem with the hard disk, you can start the computer as usual. Otherwise, re-mapping the bad sector is the next step in the process.
Re-mapping the bad sector If there is an indication of error, re-map the bad sector in the hard disk. Once the bad sector is repaired, try restarting the computer. If still there is an indication of error, the system produces a warrantee ID Code. Now you can contact the manufacturer for a repair or replacement mentioning the warrantee code.
