Know more about uninstalling Windows XP in HP ProBook 4420s
The 14-inch ProBook 4420s system is mainly designed to satisfy the business needs of the users. The main features of this system include the Intel Core i7-620LM, the Intel HD integrated graphics, up to 8GB of DDR3 memory, up to 500GB of hard drive space, i5-520M, i5-430M, i3-350M, or i3-330M CPU, and a DVD burner or Blu-Ray Combo optical drive. If the system lacks the power to work with XP or if you want to install any other operating system, then you have to uninstall the equipped XP operating system with this series. To uninstall XP, you just need to follow some un-installation procedure. You need to go to the ‘Control Panel’ to start the un-installation process. There you could see the ‘Add or Remove Programs’. Just click on that and the list of installed programs would appear after this. Then select the ‘Remove’ option displayed in the right side of XP. After this the un-installation would start automatically.
Following are the important things that you need to keep in mind during the un-installation of XP in ProBook 4420s system:
- Ensure the Administrator power
- Turn off the security software
- Proper back up of files
Ensure the Administrator power
The administrator of the system has the power to change the operating system. If you are planning to uninstall XP from your personal system, then you do not need to worry about the administrator login. The automatic login in the personal system is as administrator. But if this un-installation is in any other systems, then you need to login as administrator. Otherwise you could not start the un-installation process.
Turn off the security software
Even though the function of security software is the removal of malware, they could also have the power to interrupt the un-installation process. To avoid this interruption, you need to scan the system properly and turn off all the security software in your system.
If any of the important files are residing in the system and you don’t have any additional copy of those files, don’t forget to back up all such files. If the un-installation fails due to any reason, you could recover those files from this additional storage space.
