What Is A Video Driver?
A video driver is usually a piece of software acting a virtual like between the video card and the operating system. It is also called as the display driver. It is responsible for all of the images to be seen on the screen of the system.
How To Install A Video Driver?
There are usually certain cases for installing the video driver in the HP ProBook 4520s, which are as follows:
·Installing a fresh driver: Here the user needs to just take the driver CD pack that came along with the HP ProBook 4520s system and by placing the driver CD the user can then navigate through the options to install the video driver.
·Updating the driver: Here the user first needs to find a compatible driver for the system’s video card. And then the same can be downloaded form the Internet and installed into the system. Also the user has options here; like, while updating the user can either completely un-install the earlier driver and then install the latest updated driver or can overrun the update option on the same driver. The user can navigate through the display devices to update the video driver,
·Changing/upgrading the video card: If the user wants to change or upgrade the video card of the system the user first needs to un-install the video driver with the card still in the system. Only after placing the card the new driver must be installed, because the un-installation process is not complete if it is performed without the card inside the system
There are certain things that the user must keep in mind while installing a video driver in the HP ProBook 4520s, which are as follows:
·All the new drivers must be compatible with the video card of the system.
·All of the earlier drivers must be completely un-installed before installing a fresh driver.
·The drivers must be scanned properly for the presence of any of the malware threat associated with it.
·If there is any problem related to the installation of the video driver the user is advised to consult the technical expert and resolve the issue.

Hi,
I have Hp 4520s core i3 with ATI mobility radeon graphics card. Till now my laptop was working fine but now after one year, it has graphic issues.
When I start my computer, it works fine for a while, but after sometime, the graphics becomes slow (the other features work fine such as if I copy files from one drive to another, the speed is good). By slow graphics I mean, the videos stuck and also if I switch from one window to another , it takes time to load the graphics.
Waiting for your response, please help.
Regards

This can happen if the driver installed for the graphics card is corrupt. Download the appropriate driver for the graphics card from http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/DriverDownload.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodNameId=4145326&taskId=135&prodTypeId=321957&prodSeriesId=4145198&lang=en&cc=us by clicking the link for the Operating System installed on your computer.
If you face issues even after installing it, try uninstalling the driver from the Device Manager and then installing the one you downloaded. If even that does not fix it, it could indicate a hardware issue and you might need to get a technician to get the graphics card replaced if required.
