Often, HP does not allow the installation of a different operating system by locking the BIOS. If your PC is not a locked one, then you can easily uninstall the default operating system and install a new one. Simply boot the PC along with the operating system you want to install and save it in the same location as the previous one. This will safely replace Windows. In case, you have installed a different operating system in a dual boot with the existing one and now want to remove Windows 7 then you have to first format the Windows drive, then you need to repair the master boot record to make your PC bootable.
